High Definition - The future of gaming - The end of Nintendo

So finally my brand new shiny HDTV arrives. So I move everything in my room around so it can sit in the perfect place which took about 3 hours. Then I switch on my 360 and power up my gorgeous telly. I have to say, it was damn worth it. In fact it's so good I didn't really know what to do first. I wasn't sure if I should play a game, watch a movie or what! So I put on the music and put the visualiser to full screen. Then it takes me another 2 to actually decide what I wanted to see first. (Strictly speaking, that's a lie. Someone asked me to play Gears of War with them so that's what I did.) So Gears of War loads up and the sound starts pumping through my stereo. Then I get into some actual gameplay. This is the beggining, I start giggling like a little girl. This lasts for the first two Acts. I have already completed GoW twice, so I really didn't expect to be this dumbstruck by it's prettiness. But nevertheless, I was.
This truly is the way forward for gaming and I believe that Nintendo might have dug it's own grave by not making a machine capable of HD gaming. I mean sure they have their diminishing fan base and they may have won over a few non-gamers but the rest of the Wii owners are kids and kids don't buy games. They get them as presents at Christmas and Birthdays. Twice a year people! Not alot! Fair play to Nintendo, I mean they are the oldest of the current console producers and they out lasted SEGA so they deserve respect. Very innovative too, I mean the Wii-mote is is inspired, really it is. It's just the idea gets old after about a week of gaming. Not a great start. This console is supposed to last at least 5 years before getting dated but in some ways it feels like a step backwards. No online play, no DVD player, no HD, no graphical enhancement. Heck, my GameCube lastest longer before I got bored of that and that was a terrible console in terms of what it had to offer.
Sorry Nintendo, when your games dry out and the non-gamers go back to being non-gamers then it's truly the end. All is not lost though, if you're lucky Microsoft might by some of your franchises.

Goodbye Nintendo.......... hello HD!

Ooooh. shiny!

So today I was locked out of the forum for over 12 hours, much to my annoyance. It was for a good cause though as the Forum has been made all shiny and pretty! This must have taken Kevin ages to move from SMF to vBulletin, well it did take him ages, I was locked out for 12 hours and he is still ironing out a few things. It was worth it though, the forum actually looks inviting now so hopefully we will see an increase in new members and active members. There are a few things I'd recommend checking out such as my new rate the last game you completed thread with reviews of Prey, KOTOR and Hitman: Blood Money. Hopefully this thread will grow untill we have a plethora of reviews to help you when choosing a game. Also, check out my post about what to look forward to next month to help you beat those winter blues! What I'm trying to say is check ou tht enew forum, it's awesome and I love it. Congrats Kevin! Keep up the good work!

Conspiracy afoot!

Ok this weekend, while enjoyable has been..... well odd. I've suddenly become aware of a conspiracy to annoy me. I'm sure that people are going out of their way to ruin my day, it hasn't worked but it's the thought counts right?
So here is my first clue:

After having a late night at my friends house I decide to hit the sack, the room I usually sleep in is full with crap so I sleep in his younger brother's room (don't get the wrong idea, he's alseep downstairs). Anyway, at 7 o'clock in the morning (I've now have 5 hours of sleep) my friend's alarm clock goes off in the adjacent room, loud enough to wake me up. He hits snooze and I try to go back to sleep. Next his phone alarm goes off just as I'm dozing off, I hear him scramble around and he turns that off too. Then the alarm clock in my room goes off, I have no idea how to turn it off to i bash the top untill it went off. Next another, travel, alarm clock goes off, this isn't attached to anything so I launch it across the room. By now, I'm really angry, but too tired to do anything about it. Then the alarm that was next door goes off again, evidently only put it on snooze and now it on again. Snooze again. Now the first one in my room goes off again, obviously I only managed to find snooze the first time. This time I unplug it. Then after that the very first one goes off twice more and someone walks in my room and starts asking stupid questions. Eventually I get some sleep til ten, not ideal but better than nothing.

Now a forum member has been making stupid, one line posts for a while now. We all assumed he was a bit slow, Caboose like almost. Today I decided that I couldn't take it anymore and asked him to elaborate on his posts, you know, just give us something we can reply to. The posts get shorter, I get angrier. I ask as many questions as I can about his posts, desperately trying to get some more out of him. Could I? I wish, now it's in Admin hands, everyone has been constantly irritated by this guy and I tried my damnest but in the end it had to go to Admin, I thought of a good punishment thought. I'll tell you what is was if it gets used.

The first of many?

Well after getting fed up of bloody myspace I thought I'd make a page here and let me tell you, I created this page faster than myspace sent me a confirmation e-mail. (You may have noticed) I'll improve the page as time progesses but for now it just a hub for my alter ego
Eagle Est1986 to live in the magical world of cyberspace (now there's a word I haven't heard for a while). I hope you like it and if you don't well..... screw you.

So I guess I should let the world know a little about me. Well, I'm 20 and I live in England, and when I'm not doing something worth while, I'm probably at work, playing on the internet. I love working out my Xbox 360 and I often kick ass online. However when I start to lose sight of then tv because my double chin is in the way I like to play pretty much any sport. Top of my list of most played however is squash, then football (soccer). From time to time though I really love to ski/snowboard and surf but I can't afford to do these things that often, never mind eh, I'm going to win the lottery on Friday the I can live in California and have the best of both worlds.
